The Gaana app has some great collection of songs traversing different languages, genres, artists and so on. Besides English, Tamil and Hindi, some of the other Indian regional languages the app offers music in are Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Kannada, Bengali, etc. You may also explore interesting and new music based on your liking or mood through the app’s ‘discover’ section. You may download songs from popular albums or artists of your choice. To make discovering songs simple and intuitive, the app comes up with curated lists such as Bollywood Top 50, US Top 50, Tamil Top 20, etc. These lists are updated frequently so that new and trending music get featured.
User Interface
Gaana is available as a website service and also as an app. The interfaces across the two are a bit different. Since the web real estate is bigger, you get to see a lot more functionalities and features without scrolling. Thankfully, the information is not overwhelming or doesn’t look cluttered since things are spaced out well. The mobile app’s home screen is a tad different, and the side menu that’s open right away on the website needs to be clicked to expand on the app. The designs are workable and do not come with any major learning curve.
